Cambodia Gambling Dens
July 21st, 2026 by Andrea

There is a fascinating background to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den wagering is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are established in a relatively tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent spot, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing income acquired from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are apparently necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge casino, contains 150 slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred one armed bandits and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that contains numerous comforts aside from the casino, which offers 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight gaming tables.
